2012 National Poetry Contest and
2012 National Short-Story Contest
(for Canadian citizens or residents aged 14 and over)
Deadline:
July 31st, 2012 (post-marked mail)
August 15th, 2012 (e-mails or faxes)
No entry fee! Cash prizes to be won!
Each summer we hold two contests, which are open to Canadian residents and citizens over the age of fourteen.
Over $2500 will be awarded in cash and other prizes.
There is no entry fee and no obligation to purchase anything.
As well as the opportunity to win cash prizes, there will be ten honourable mentions in each contest and the top third (33%) or less of all entries received will be published in an inexpensive, keepsake, soft-cover collection to be released in early December. All participants will receive a small gift!
Entries must be post-marked by July 31st, 2012, or faxes and e-mails can be sent until August 15th, 2012.

Rules
- All work must be original and should not have been previously published (online postings should be removed prior to submission).
- Please do not submit work already sent to other contests or publications for consideration (aka no simultaneous submissions).
- You may enter both contests, but only one entry for each!
- Poems must be 48 lines or less.
- Short stories must be 750 words or less. They should be fiction or fictionalized. (Change the names of real characters and no essays please)!
- At this time entries should be in English or accompanied by an English translation.
- Please print and complete an entry form or send your entry with a cover page containing your full name and mailing address. Judging is blind so we prefer no identifying information on the page(s) containing your poem and/or short story.
- Please retain a copy of all work submitted as we are unable to return anything. Any topic or style is acceptable.
